Happy Monday!
Today in Math we learned a new mental math strategy an did one final review for our upcoming
"Les transformations" assessment coming up later this week.
In Science, we began graphing our data from our first lab demo that we completed in class last week. Tomorrow we will discuss the lab questions and look at writing the conclusion together as a class. Completed lab reports will be due Friday.
In Francais, we started studying the book, "Le chandail de hockey." After looking at the pictures in the book, we made predictions about what the story might be about. After reading the first two pages together, we have already discovered that one of our predictions was certainly correct; ALL the boys who play hockey want to be just like #9, Maurice "The Rocket" Richard!
We ended our morning with another mini-lesson for our brain unit.
Today we added the words: serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, cortisol, and oxytocin to our word list and briefly discussed each of these neurotransmitters' roles in our brain.
Our mini homework assignment over the next few days is to reflect on things that make us happy (triggering oxytocin) and things that cause us stress (triggering cortisol). We will be doing a small activity with these ideas later in the week as a way to better understand how and why we have feelings.
