Happy last day of school!
We had a great last morning together. Keep reading to see what we were up to!
We started our day with a yummy Jamaican treat! Kevin brought in chicken curry, rice, carrot salad and plantains for us to enjoy! Our classroom (and our hallway) have never smelled so good!
Thank you so much Kevin (and Mom!) for waking up extra early in order to
prepare such a tasty meal to share. Merci! :)
After our savoury snack, we took on the QBitz Extreme challenge!
The pattens on the EXTREME cubes are very different from the set of cubes we used earlier this week. The images we created were more complex and made our brains think, think, think!
Next up was our paper airplane challenge.
We had the option of 1) using one of the six templates Mme Careen had posted on the board or
2) creating our own airplane design, with the goal of seeing which model would fly the furthest.
2) creating our own airplane design, with the goal of seeing which model would fly the furthest.
We had 25 minutes to create, test and make modifications to our airplanes before heading to first, the library and then, outside to fly them! We were all able to create some wonderful flying masterpieces!
We ended our morning with a story, Only One You, and then ate a yummy ice cream treat while playing a Math or Français game of choice with a partner or group. Some of us chose to play cards, or re-try one of the Math activities from yesterday's class, while others chose to play Colour Addict (a popular Français game this year) or take another stab at QBitz Extreme.
A great ending to a great year!
Félicitations à tous! :)
